Professional golf returns to Daytona Beach!After an 8-year absence, women’s professional golf returns to Daytona Beach for the American Systems Invitational. Hosted by the renowned Legends Course at LPGA International, home to the Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA), this first year event will bring an international field of 144 to Daytona Beach in early April.The American Systems Invitational, the second tournament on the 2008 Duramed FUTURES Tour schedule, will offer fans the opportunity to see the next generation of stars on the LPGA Tour challenge one of the hardest courses on Tour. This 6,339 yard Par 72 layout designed by Arthur Hills, will challenge the field with tight, well-bunkered greens, undulating fairways, and water on more than half the holes. A total purse of $100,000 makes the American Systems Invitational an important early season event for the players. The winner will jump the top of the Duramed FUTURES Tour Money List, and put themselves in prime position to earn one of the five exempt LPGA cards for the 2009 season.
